I wanted to share a few of my favourite photos from Nathan and Ruth’s engagement session at the Winterbourne Botanical Gardens at Birmingham University. Not only is it a beautiful backdrop but they both work at the uni too so being the hopeless romantic that I am, I absolutely loved that they chose to have their photos taken there. I really love doing an engagement session, it gives me the opportunity to get to know a couple better and most of us aren’t huge fans of having photos taken so it’s nice to warm up to the idea of having me and my big ol’ lens in your face for a day and get some photos taken in regular non-wedding clothes. I had such a great afternoon with these guys and I’m really excited for their wedding in August.

If you’d like to find out more about my wedding or family photography packages then I would love to hear from you!

I wanted to share a few favourite images from a recent shoot I did with Ann’s Bridal Room. Ann has a beautiful shop in Leighton Buzzard and some of the dresses in there made me wish I was getting married so I could have a trying on session! I *may* have tried on some head pieces and veils while we were there looking at dresses for the shoot…had to be done! We weren’t planning on the addition of a little bridesmaid but this girly loves any excuse to dress up and really wanted to join in. The apple doesn’t fall far from the mother tree where that one’s concerned.  I love that Natalie (my second shooter, “big sister”, partner in crime, stylist, art director, wedding show co-ordinator, etc) was able to rustle up a dress for her at the drop of a hat. And high five us for also wrangling 5 kids between us while I took photos. Multi-tasking at it’s finest!

In two weeks time, I’m going to be exhibiting at the National Wedding Show at the NEC. My partner in crime, Natalie, convinced me to “Go big or go home” and so that’s what’s happening! These are the biggest shows around and so it’s a little nervewracking that this is my first wedding fayre experience (not counting that time I had a table at a local hotel!). It has taken over our lives the last few weeks, I’m even dreaming about the wedding show!  There has been *so* much to think about and organise and thank goodness for Natalie who thinks of things that wouldn’t even have crossed my mind. My requirement was that the stand “Looks pretty” and I didn’t even think of the practicalities. I *think* we’ve thought of everything though and I’m excited/nervous/terrified to get everything set up ready and to see the artwork and sample products. No doubt I’ll be spamming your Instagram feeds with photos (might want to unfollow me now).

I have a pair of tickets to giveaway so if you’re a blushing bride or if you just like all things wedding (who doesn’t?!), make sure you enter! And if you are going along on 4th-6th March, please come and say hello, you can find us over at stand J29. We have marshmallows (unless I get to them first) and we have a really fun giveaway planned too! I also just ordered a thousand leaflets so would really appreciate it if you’d come and take one.
