This summer, the folks from George at Asda are asking parent bloggers and kids to plan their dream bedroom featuring up to £400 worth of George bedroom products. With the help of my little duo, Bevan and Honor, we’ve picked out some of our favourite bits and pieces from their kids range.

1 George Home Alfie Chest of 3 Drawers  – £149

OK, so my kids aren’t that practical that they picked out a chest of drawers by themselves but every bedroom needs storage. I really love the shape and retro vibe of this range.

2 Kids Shark Beanbag – £30

What could be better for a shark mad boy? Bevan absolutely loved this shark beanbag! Both kids have quite plain rooms and we inject their personalities into their spaces by switching up the bedding and accessories to reflect whatever the current obsession de jour is.

3 George Oh Deer! Ceiling Light – £5

Honor is a real girly girl at the moment and loves anything with hearts and animals so this sweet lampshade fits the bill!

4 Kidsaw Country Cottage Bookcase – £69

Honor loved everything in this range and thought this would be great to house her stories and dolls. I’m sure it would probably end up as a makeshift doll house at some point too!

George Home World Traveller Wall Art – £3.50

Both of them liked these pictures and I think they’d be a great choice for their playroom. I love the colours and think the animals are pretty cute!

6 Batman Rug – £14

Like most boys his age (and most grown-up boys, too!) Bevan likes superheroes so this Batman rug had to make the top picks!

7 George Home Circus String Lights  – £7

I love string lights and they both have lights in their rooms at the moment. Honor loved these circus animals to hang above her bed.

8 George Home Webster Bed – £99

This bed is my favourite thing in the entire range and Bevan picked it in yellow, his favourite colour (it also comes in teal, black and grey). I often find that things are restricted to blue or pink so it’s always nice when there are more options.

Our Sundays are usually a slow lived affair. It quite often involves extended pyjama wearing, a roast dinner and copious amounts of washing ready for the week ahead. Having the kids at home for the Easter holidays and my husband on holiday too has felt like one long weekend. I don’t know when we last spent so much time together. It’s been rather lovely.
Yesterday was a pretty lazy one, even by our standards! We spent the morning at home and just pottered around the house catching up with bits and pieces. In the afternoon the boys went off to the cinema while I took Sunshine to her friend’s ballerina party where she got her face painted and bubbles in her party bag. Best day ever when you’re four.

With the kids back at school & preschool and with so much free time now (12 hours a week – GET IN!), my attention has turned to the beautification of my house and first up is the kitchen. According to my Pinterest, the style I seem to be favouring at the moment  is “modern vintage” and if you’ve ever met me, you’ll know that label is me to a tee. At one time I turned my nose up at things that weren’t *authentically* vintage but as I’ve grown older and more practically minded, I’ve seen the benefit (let’s not mention all the light coloured walls with two messy children….). I’d really love an eclectic mix of eras and colour, you enter our house via the kitchen and so I’d like it to be a really bright and happy room. Mismatching is my current love de jour and along with anything I can sand and chalk paint, I am always on the lookout for gorgeous tableware, I can’t pass a charity shop without popping in to see what they have in the way of plates! When it comes to glasses, I’m all about a goblet. Yes, even for Prosecco. Come to think of it, perhaps my goblet love means my friends and I am partly responsible for the current Prosecco shortage?

House of Fraser have the most fabulous vintage inspired collection of wine glasses at the moment and I’m a huge fan of the multi-coloured sets. Perfect for a mismatched table! I also love a lot of their 50s style homeware. Such a glamourous era.
