Behind the scenes – Little Jam Pot Life

I’m a little late in sharing these but wanted to share Natalie’s “Behind The Scenes”. Natalie from Little Jam Pot Life is another of the new additions to this year’s Living Arrows line up. Her photos capture the personalities of her lively little bunch so beautifully and I love the little videos of her family.

“This image is from playing in the back garden, a happy place for us and the place where the kiddies run free. My featured top image was the angle I chose to get of my baby boy, I just love to watch him develop, he’s wearing his favourite shoes from inch blue, and just look at the chubby thighs, swoon! This was taken with my Canon 500D 35mm lens, F.2.8, 1/250.”

This is the first year of Living Arrows for you, what does the project mean to you?

I’m so fortunate to be asked to join such an inspiring team of contributors to this wonderful Living Arrows project! The project means a lot as I love to document simple little elements of our life, this involves a lot of captures of my little doing what they do best which is – being kids! Free to explore, show emotion, have fun, and learn. I love looking back at my images each week to see how much they’ve done, how they’ve changed and to also look at everyone else’s link ups. I think its very inspiring to be in such a lovely little community where all minds are on the same wave length, we all want to capture, embrace & preserve these precious, simple moments of our lives, wonderful lives raising children.

Have you learnt anything from it?
Everyone is so completely unique in the way they photograph, how they document, the aspects, angles, processes. it’s wonderful to see such a variety. Never compare. Feel touched & inspired, but there’s that saying ‘comparison is the thief of joy’. If you let it take over, you lose the real meaning of what & why you’re photographing.

What kind of subjects interest you the most?

Wow, thats a tough one. I’m inspired by most things, mostly my children they are my muse! I feel the magic that photography brings, I’m especially interested in newborn photography, something i’m trying to build my own business in. my website is here…www.onehappinessphotography.com if you want to take a look…creating things, seeing the beauty in the everyday, I love to try my best at cooking and baking (try being the dominant word!). I love spending time with my loved ones, relaxing by the beach, dreaming of our future by the sea in a few years, reflecting on life, I’m a thinker, I daydream and think way too much! and maybe talk too much? 😉

Do you plan your photos, have an idea in mind of what you want or do you take your camera out with you and see what you get?

I use my iPhone for a lot of photos, especially on the school run, for those of you who follow my Instagram you’ll see my girls most mornings! I have been taking my ‘big cam’ out with me a lot lately, just because I want to continue to train myself all the different settings in manual. I have been shooting full manual with natural lighting now for a few years, I’ll never go back to flash! If theres a specific photo I have in mind then I’ll see about a location like shooting the autumn, or in a field for example but I generally just capture simple things really. Those are the things that capture my heart.

What or who inspires you?

I am inspired by everything. Life gives you lots of things to shape your life I guess! I am inspired by beautiful natural light, sitting by the sea breathing in fresh air, country walks, music that make me feel nostalgic, Photos that make my heart race & love. Love is by far the biggest inspiration, I may sound like a super hippy but being in love and then adding to that love when becoming a Mama is by far the most inspiring thing for me, unconditional love! My children, soulmate, Dad & Nan inspire me everyday – remarkable people in my life and I am forever grateful! …I am also a huge fan of anyone who recovers from post natal muscle split, Wendy at Mutu is so fab, and I’m hoping to purchase the course soon! Blogging wise – I have a lovely list of who I like to check out their blogs, photography or snippets of life. This is really lovely when you relate to what they’re writing too, blogging is inspiring on it’s own as the possibilities are endless!
