Now the Country Kids thing doesn’t just mean being in the countryside. Fiona, who by the way is an absolute superwoman – she’s a mother of 6, runs a beautiful holiday farm in Cornwall and writes an award winning blog! (She also has a cracking figure and great hair. I know, sickening isn’t it?). Anyway, she’s really passionate about getting outside with your kids and spending quality time together, whether it’s exploring a wood or playing in the paddling pool in your own garden (you might want to rethink that one at this this time of year) and that’s what this link-up is about.

We spent an afternoon at the beach with the smalls. Their grandparents live about 20 minutes from the coasts so most visits feature a beach trip. Our poor deprived children don’t know that white sandy beaches exist, they think the North Sea is it and that all beach trips are freezing. I love these visits and I think these are the days I will remember when they’re grown up.

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

I can’t believe it’s been 12 weeks already.  It’s flying by!

This dude has never been a big fan of fireworks but he does love a sparkler! What’s not to love? I think my sparkler safety paranoia has rubbed off on him though because the poor kid was scared to move!

Yesterday marked a year since I sat down and signed myself up for a WordPress blog. I had no idea that this whole world of blogging existed and what it would bring for me. I thought that perhaps a couple of people might book me for family photos, I had no idea that I’d end up making some amazing friends and become even more passionate about photography or that I’d find myself as a finalist at an award ceremony in a gorgeous frock (yeah, mentioning that again. Loud and proud!). I’m not sure what’s next but I’m sure it’ll be fun!

My very first post (HERE – thanks for asking) was sharing photos from Halloween so it seems only right that I do the same a year on. This year they decided on werewolf and a cat. We lost the kitty ears headband between the playgroup party and our own shindig at home so I had to fashion up a witch costume in between frantic texts to friends to please bring things along to the party that I’d forgotten (like wine) and shouting at my poor husband that “IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE THE ONE ON PINTEREST!”. They went trick-or-treating for the first time this year and it was amazing how quickly Sunshine figured out that being small and cute + smiling and saying “fankooo!” a lot = extra sweets.

Bonus baby in a pumpkin for your visual pleasure. Probably one of my favourite photos that I’ve ever taken. How cute?
