This week, I’m linking up with Coombe Mill’s Country Kids (thanks for having me, Fiona!). Country Kids is all about having fun outdoors and spending time together as a family. It being Spring and all, we went to the Ashridge Estate for a picnic and to look at some bluebells. We’re just like an Enid Blyton family…..We’re very fortunate to have so many fantastic places on our doorstep and have been making an effort to visit them recently. Now that the children are older, it’s nice to take them exploring and it’s good to visit new places rather than going to the same old spots. Beloved was up for the bluebell idea the moment I mentioned going to M&S for posh picnic food (£36….kinda didn’t mention that bit). It took us a couple of hours to reach the bluebells, thanks to the kids stopping to look at snails, climbing on trees/tree trunks/anything tree related, Little Dude directing us with his pedometer and the scooter that he’d insisted on bringing (I’d said no but was overruled)…We were convinced we’d walked for miles but it was probably only half a mile! When we finally reached the spot where the bluebells were, Beloved said “Er, so what do we do now?” “Um, look at bluebells?”. So we did.

“Hey babe, just ignore the kids and let me take a photograph, OK?” Some excellent parenting there…Woodland picnicking  Scanning bluebells with his pedometer. Computer says they’re blue flowers what are really a bit purple. Good to know.

Back again! The blog’s back – tell a friend!

Can you believe it’s been TWO WEEKS since I last blogged? Sister can’t…

You know what’s not as fun as you think it’s going to be? Changing your entire blog design and web host. True, nobody made me do it but I had a vision in my head of how I wanted this site to look (that’s totally normal…right?) and now it actually looks like that! I’m really thrilled with the new look – if you’ve never visited before, it didn’t look like this a couple of weeks ago. Heck, it didn’t look like this last night! I’ll spare the details because I’m actually boring myself now talking about it, but I had to redo the whole thing. Again. I wasn’t at all childish and whiney about it….not at all. And yeah, a couple of posts are missing pictures and I need to make a couple of tweaks but I just ate my own bodyweight in nachos and I’m a’blogging while we watch Trucks & Trailers (who knew that driving a lorry was SO DRAMATIC!!!). It’s all good.

Sometimes the loving cuddle is actually more of a choke hold

Our school Easter egg hunt was snowed off so we had it last weekend. Why not hunt eggs in May? I’ve been dying for her to wear this little dress and it’s still too big but I love it.

18 months! It’s going so quickly. Sometimes I look at her and see a little girl instead of a baby.

You can now comment and like posts through Facebook. Go on! You know you want to!

Have a great bank holiday!

A few pictures from our bank holiday. We had a great weekend, the weather was lovely, we ate good food and spent time with our friends. I love that we get another one in a couple of weeks. You’re my favourite month, May.
